A Few Updates

Oh my gosh has this been a crazy last couple of weeks!  Clark and I have both been overwhelmed with school and work, and in desperate need of a break.  Unfortunately, the next couple weeks ahead are only going to get busier.  Clark has finals in two weeks, I have midterms in 3, and right in the middle of all of that, we will be moving.  Sadly because we've been so busy some of the fun things we love to do have been put on the back burner...

One of the things I've had to give less time to is blogging.  As much as I love doing it, school has to come first.  I will be doing my absolute best to keep you all updated and continue writing as often as I can, but I'm sorry in advance for any lack of blogs in the next couple weeks.  However, there are a few exciting things that have happened recently!

As I mentioned in a couple other posts, Clark and I have started another DIY project.  We are actually almost completely done, but are waiting for the legs to arrive in the mail.  I'm extremely excited to put it up for you all to see! To give you a few details, just to make waiting even harder, we are building a media sidebar that is similar to one we found at West Elm.  Buying the West Elm version was impossible of course because we are college students and no matter what I tell myself, $1000 for a sidebar is just not in the budget.  Now seeing our project wrap up however, I'm so thankful we did it ourselves! It looks gorgeous, was about 1/10th of the price, and was handmade by my sweet boyfriend..  doesn't get much better.

I also mentioned previously that I would be doing a style shoot soon for the Marquette Journal.  Well, we did it! What a cool experience it was, and I have no doubt the pictures will turn out great.  When I have the pictures, I will post them along with the link to the journal so you can all see.  My part in the whole thing was to style the girls in the shoot, and be a 'model' as well.

The theme of the piece was supposed to be Spring Break: Outfits for Anywhere You Might Go.. it didn't end up that way.  Before I knew it was a shoot we were doing with a Marquette photographer, Clark and I went out to do our own shoot.  I put together several different outfits that would be good for a variety of locations and weather.  I had an outfit for Milwaukee, one for Florida, and even one for somewhere tropical, for those lucky enough to be escaping the cold.  Clark and I ventured out on Sunday to take these pictures, and let me tell you, it was miserable.  Trying to pretend to be somewhere warm and sunny while wearing a summer outfit in 28 degree weather is one of the most difficult things I have done.  Let me correct that, I didn't successfully do it.  We only actually took pictures in two outfits before giving up, and when I looked at the pictures later, I realized how badly it really went.  I looked as miserable as I felt standing out in the freezing cold and wind.  Because of all of this, we did the shoot indoors in only a couple different cold weather outfits.  However, I still believe the piece will look fantastic.

I recently also did a lot of shopping, and am excited to put up several new fashion posts.  They will feature some dresses, new shoes, maybe some crazy prints, and even a tutu.. yes, a tutu. Get ready!
A few other things to expect in the upcoming weeks, and when to expect them:
1. Interior Design posts as we get ready to move, and decorate our new place!
(Moving March 1st)
2. Valentine's Date post.. because we're obviously celebrating with our favorite things.
Also, a fun surprise for Clark that I know he'll love.
(This weekend)
3. And a couple other things that I can't quite reveal just yet...

Stay Tuned!
